This course enables the participant to become confident with the damage evaluation of metallic aircraft structure to determine the appropriate allowable damage in accordance to either the Airbus or Boeing Structural Repair Manual. Practical usage of measurement tools, damage mapping and SRM usage will help to achieve these objectives.

 

This course satisfies ATA 104 Level IV objectives.

Classroom Training:

  • Metallic structue damage classification.
  • Determination of damage size and location.
  • Damage reporting.
  • Using the various types of SRM.
  • SRM usage up to allowable damage.
  • Written test.

 

Practical training (classroom):

  • Measuring of different damages on metallic structure mock-ups.
  • Damage reporting.
  • Determination of allowable damage.

 

Learning Methods:

Different training material will be combined:

  • Documentation in printed or digital form.
  • Computer Based Training.
  • Technical documentation.

 

Examination:

The practical exercises will be assessed individually.

What

The student will be prepared to use the Structural Repair Manual and Aircraft Maintenance Manual and Component Maintenance Manual (SRM,AMM and CMM) to find the inspection and repair data for metallic structures. It includes structural identification, allowable damage limits and repairable damage limits, reporting of damages.
